Position Title: HR Generalist/Payroll Processor Atlanta GA

Description: This position requires multi-site job duties and travel. Some travel is short notice depending on the reason for the travel out of state or the multiple plants HR/Business needs. 

We are currently looking for an HR Generalist/Payroll Processor responsible for the day-to-day operations of HR and provide support to both: field staff, administration and administrative duties. 


Maintain and update employee personnel files and medical files. 

Assist new hires with on-line benefit Administration. 

Assist employees’ with benefit/payroll inquiries. Help resolve if there are issues with their benefit deductions or issues.  

Assist Supervisors with scheduling interviews; Participate in Interviews. 

Assist Divisional HR Manager with processing conditional offers and background screens pre-employment physicals and drug screens for new hires. 

Assist HR Manager with Plants random drug screen process. 

Assist with Injury Investigations and assist with Workcomp procedures. 

Assist with investigations and or Hotline complaints 

Track and Assist with Plant or Plants Training Initiatives. 

Assist with Workcomp Claims and injury investigations. 

Assist employees with the initial steps for leave of absence process of FMLA, Short-term or Long-term disability. 

Assist or Process Bi-weekly payroll 

Facilitate New Hire Orientations. Assist with Safety Training Orientations. 

Assist Divisional HR Manager with general HR related questions and matters to support the plants. 

Comply with company policies and procedures. 

Must be able to travel. Position based in Dayton, New Jersey plant with responsibility for other locations as assigned by Divisional HR Manager. 

Must have superior time management. Especially managing multiple plants HR related concerns and needs. 

Must be able to communicate effectively with local Plant Manager on HR related matters and resolve issues timely.

Additional duties as assigned by management and Divisional HR Manager 

Candidates of special interest will be those who understand the importance of fostering a positive culture in which employees are valued for their contributions to improving safety, customer service, and value creation for the good of the company. This position will require travel to remote Plant locations within Pratt Industries footprint as this position is a critical link between Human Resources and Plants which we serve. 

The ideal candidate will be an energetic and creative individual who enjoys learning our employees and their abilities, and who can instill a sense of the Pratt Industries culture into current and future employees but, also can multi-task and handle administrative duties of filing, entering employee information into ADP, communicating benefits and new hire orientations. Ideal candidate will be willing to job shadow the manufacturing/warehouse positions on the plant floor to learn and experience the job duties our Pratt Industries employees experience daily. Candidates with 1 to 2 years of recruiting experience & Human Resource experience. 



Bachelors Degree or obtaining degree in Human Resources/Safety 

Two years general office experience 

A friendly, professional image and demeanor. 

Experience with MS Word 

Experience with Excel 

Excellent phone voice and demeanor 

Must be able to travel to Retail Pratt plants as assigned by Divisional HR Manager 

Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following: 

Experience with ADP payroll system. 

Two or more years experience with MS Word and knowledge of MS Excel 

Self-motivated; ability to work with minimal supervision 

Must have strong work ethics: ability to work with confidential information. 

Education Preferred in Human Resource Management 


Ability to read and interpret financial statements, general business periodicals, professional journals, operating and maintenance instructions, regulatory laws and manuals, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of the company. 


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. 


Computer literate (MS Office including Word and Excel) 

Proficient knowledge and application of HR laws and regulations 

Preferred Candidates with experience with ADP 


Employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear, sit and stand. Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 


While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment can be, at times, loud.
